Hello,
Here are the minutes of today's TC. The next call will be in one
or two weeks, I'll send an email next week. If anyone has analysis
approaches/results that they'd like to present, please let me
know.
On today's call:
- We agreed to cancel the third analysis group meeting that we had
been putatively planning - Tuuli's unscheduled knee surgery
prevents commitment to hosting a meeting anywhere this fall. We'll
have a ~2h meeting in Santiago in the morning of Tuesday 30.10.
for those who are there.
- At the Santiago meeting the RNAseq work package will have a
short WP summary presentation and maybe a 30-45 min presentation
about the analysis and results (i.e. contents of the paper).
Others can also present RNAseq related results; otherwise Tuuli
and Manolis will do the presentations
- We should schedule a TC for the whole RNAseq group (including
the PIs) for late September / early October.
- The wiki site will soon move to the CRG server which will change
its address but not content.
- Discussion on Leiden's miRNA-mRNA correlations that seem to have
some bias, as well as some miRNA mapping related questions.
miRNA-mRNA correlations will be tested with data that has been
normalized for technical variance (Tuuli will provide shortly).
- Tuuli presented slides about eQTL methodology - corrections and
normalizations of both genotype and expression data, and the main
principles and ideas about QTL mapping. Preliminary analysis shows
the expected result of transcript quantifications yielding much
less eQTLs than exon quantifications.
best regards,
Tuuli
