Dear all,
As you know 2nd. Barcelona Evo-Devo minisymposium will take place at
the Facultat de Biologia, Universitat de Barcelona the 14th of November.
The format will change a little bit this time. We are having three
seminars by "senior" scientists plus, and this is new, three more from
juniors or less-seniors.
The seniors invited are: Iñaki Ruiz-Trillo (UB), Ricard Solé (UPF) and
Jordi Casanova (IBMB-CSIC). We have not selected any juniors yet as we
would like to choose from those that volunteer to give a seminar.
Seniors will be given 45 min each (including questions). Juniors will
have 20 min each.
We think it is important that scientists working in any area related
to the broad field of evolution of development present their data. We
intend to have a "relaxed" symposium in which everybody finds at easy
presenting his or her current project (or their plans).
Unfortunately not everybody will be able to talk in this edition but
remember that we plan to repeat this meeting every six months, so if
you don't have a chance now, you may have it in the next edition.
Please, feel free to send us (Jordi or Pere; our mail addresses below)
a proposed title for a talk and a couple of lines describing your
work. This should help us selecting speakers with complementary views.
Soon we will be sending you a tentative schedule though the meeting
will take place at the "Sala de Graus" of the "Facultat de Biologia",
between 3 and 8 p.m.
We hope you see you all!
Jordi (jordigarcia(a)ub.edu)
Pere (pedro.martinez(a)ub.edu)
